Hey friend, welcome to my page!
Eemil Ylä-Nikkilä

Hi! I’m Eemil Ylä-Nikkilä, an Applied Math & Economics student, currently spending a semester at the National University of Singapore.
This is my little corner of the internet where I’ll occasionally share my thoughts about life, tech, surprising learnings, interesting reads, and whatever else happens to be on my mind.
I’m into all things math, philosophy, machine learning, economics, and trying to make sense of the human condition. Along the way, I’ve worked at a startup, done operations development and strategy in large corporates, led teams and community initiatives in the startup ecosystem, and spent more weekends than I probably should have at hackathons. I’m also a long-distance endurance athlete, having completed an IRONMAN and aiming for a sub-3 marathon this fall.
In 2026, I have, for example:
- Won the main prize at Hack & Roll (Singapore’s largest student-run hackathon)
- Co-authored a research paper that was presented at Finland’s largest economics conference: Discussion Paper 49
- Launched this website!
I’m genuinely excited to start sharing more here. I’m really glad you’ve found your way here!
